Dollar Tree Deals!

Foam Dice (2/$1)  Whenever I see these dice at Dollar Tree, I always get them.  You can use them for anything.  Plus, they are quiet.
CVC, Letter Sounds, Number Learning Cards (3/$1)  I bought 4 sets and labeled w/ numbers (set 1, 2, 3, 4-So, students will not mix-up the sets)
Foam Puzzle Clock.  I bought 5 clocks.  Label on the back w/ the number of that set- So, students can work side-by-side and not mix-up  pieces.
Big Number-Line to 70.  I bought 5 number-lines.  I taped this number line together and laminated for durability.  Then I cut it up in puzzle piece fashion.  This number-line is about 10 ft. long, so you need some space.

Telling Time Puzzles

The following are printouts of my Telling Time Puzzles.  These are similar to the Base Ten Puzzles.  I love using puzzle pieces in centers b/c they are self-correcting.

  1. Print on Cardstock
  2. Laminate for durability
  3. Cut in Puzzle-Piece form
  4. Group pieces according to letter and place in separate, lettered baggie.

Months

The following are some center activities used to review the months of the year.
Putting the Months in Order
(I used the Month Labels from the Calendar Math Kit.
I encourage my students to vary how they organize the mths.
For example, put them in order in a circle, in columns etc.)
Putting the Months in Order (back)
(This activity is self-correcting because they are numbered)

Month Puzzle with Recording Sheet
(I cut up a calendar and the students put it together.
This helps them become familiar with the number placement,
order of the days of the week and the month.  It is self-correcting!!!
The students copy the calendar they built on their recording sheet.
This helps them understand the first day of the month may not always start
in the first square. Every month is cut up differently,
so you will have 12 different puzzles.)

Easy to Read Clock

Make telling time easy with a slight adjustment to your hanging clock.

I purchased mini paper clocks from a school store, highlighted the appropriate number of minutes and then wrote the minute really big in the center of the clock.  They are laminated for durability.  (If you click on the picture, you can see it a little better.)
