I have used the same cardboard treasure chest that was left in my room by a previous teacher for a couple of years, now. Although I like the look of it, it is starting to fall apart. Originally, I wanted to go with an authentic looking treasure chest that was made of wood, but I wasn't crazy about the weight and bulk that would come with it.
My recent trip to Ikea ended my search! It is light and can fold-up for easy storage/move. It is big and can store prizes that are oddly shaped. I would of rather something blue, but I have a feeling the kids will love it.
Toy Box from Ikea |
I just went to an IKEA store for the first time yesterday. I wish I would have seen this! I have co-taught for the last couple years and have used co-worker's treasure box. I need to get a designated one of my own. I did score a deal on an easel that I will use for centers.

That is awesome! I wish I had an IKEA in my area!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had an IKEA, too. Luckily, my parents who I visit every summer are a short 40 min. away from one. On the plus side, look at all the money we save from not being close to one ; )
ReplyDeleteI wish I had an IKEA in Vegas! Luckily, my friend goes to the one in Cali. I hear ya with the saving money...she picked me up the most adorable stuff for my garden theme this year. Have a great school year!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I am going to ATTEMPT to add my link here...first time I am trying. Wish me luck:)
