This is a great introductory lesson to shapes.
- Read the book, "Grandfather Tang's Story"
- Give each student a bag with the following 7 tangrams
- Challenge the students to make a square out of those tangrams

| Preparation: I printed the tangram square design on card-stock, laminated and cut the pieces out. I numbered the pieces on the back (so they will not get mixed-up), and placed them in baggies labeled with the #. I made a class set. |
